St. John offers many opportunities for Spiritual Growth including two Bible Study groups:
Monday Evening Bible Study meets in the Parish House on the first and third Mondays of every month from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. We are currently reading the New Testament book of Philippians along with Rev. Bruce Epperly’s book Philippians: A Participatory Study Guide. Everyone is Welcome to join us!
Tuesday Morning Lectionary Bible Study meets every Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:30 am in the Parish House. Each week we read the scripture passages for the following Sunday and discuss the message and the relevance to our faith today. Please join us for study, tea, fellowship and laughter!
St. John’s also offers three adult Sunday School classes that meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am:
The Faithful:this group is using Tradition and Wisdom from the International Sunday School Lessons. We will read and discuss Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon and the Gospel of Matthew. This group is facilitated by Seddie Hess and Bob Homan and meets in the Prayer Room in Fellowship Hall.
Serendipity: this women’s group is reading Jesus’ Parables in Today’s Language by Dr. Joe Faulkner. We will read each parable, read Dr. Faulkner’s interpretation then have a lively discussion. This group is facilitated by Anne Fredericks and meets in the Parish House Conference Room.
Koffee Klutch:this group is using The Wired Word. Each week students will receive an email with the lesson for the following Sunday that includes a newspaper article, relevant scripture passage and discussion questions. On Sunday morning students will discuss the articles and the questions. This group is facilitated by John Poorman and meets in the Fellowship Hall next to the coffee machine.
